Is my Quadrafire 1000 supposed to blow intermittently?

I have a quadrafire 1000 Pellet stove when it blows heat it blows for 5 to 15 seconds and pauses for 3 to 5 seconds is this normal?

No , I call that short cycling. Set your heat anticipate to 1.2 . It is located behind the cover of the t-stat.

Are quadrafires pellet stove reliable or are they junk???

I have been told quadrafires aren’t as good as St. Croix or Enviro.

Somebody wrote that the stoves are now made in China….is that true?

They have an aluminum heat exchanger which I believe the Harmins and others have stainless steal.

I could save about $500 by going with a quadrafire, but obviously I don’t want to if they are going to be junk…help!!

Quadrafires and Harmans are popular brands here if that makes any difference. I don’t use a pellet stove but it’s my understanding they don’t really get that hot so would the difference between aluminum and stainless really matter? Perhaps the thickness of the metal would be the determining factor. I’ve heard more discussion on the type of auger, fans, and motors than heat exchanger. (I use a wood stove which is less complex and gets really hot).

my pellet stove will not drop pellets?

I have a quadrafire fireplace insert. It will drop pellets when the stove is first turned on. Once the fire in the pot starts to burn down, it should drop more pellets, but it doesn’t so the stove goes off. If I hit the reset Button, then it will drop the pellets.

Sounds like the auger that pushes the pellets is getting hot and shorting causing you to have to reset it. Call the maker and ask them! They will have the replacement parts for it also.

well before you trow it away see what you can do with it fix,move, and stuff if you cant then if its a lot of moneys sell it on ebay or give it away but do what you what to do
