Your questions about intermatic timers

Jenny asks…

How to fix an intermatic pool timer?

http://cdn3.ioffer.com/img/item/379/642/06/o_intermatic_timer.jpg Looks just like the one in this link. Anyone know how to fix one? Mine will not turn anymore but if i flip the switch it turns on and off no problem?

admin answers:

It’s cheaper to replace the timer than to fix it. The inside parts come right out and you can put the new ones in, just mark the wires, use tape write numbers on them.

You can get instructions for your Intermatic timer on line.

Or you can Google “Intermatic w/part No.” and get them.

Charles asks…

How does a intermatic timer work?

admin answers:

If it’s the dial kind with the red and black pins you need to first remove the pins, may even have four pins (two red two black) but you only need two per timing session. Turn the dial till the current time is on the arrow. Then insert one red pin at the time you want the timer to turn on and insert the black pin at the off time. Use the exrta pins for a second timing event. If you unplug the timer you need to dial it to the correct time when you plug it back in.

David asks…

How many watts per hour does an Intermatic timer use just to keep the time and trip the trippers?

admin answers:

Since they barely get warm, it is probably around five or six watts.

It would take about 150 hours of continuous use to use a kilowatt hour of electricity. Your electric bill will tell you how much that costs.

Sandy asks…

What is an Intermatic Wall Timer in the bathroom for?

Like, does it stop the water when the timer ends?

admin answers:

It is normally a light fixture shut off. Usually found in some businesses that believe it will Save Electricity for the short time some one needs to use toilet & sink. I did know of one family that used it in their 1/2 bath since the kids kept leaving the lights on. It is not used where there are showers/tubs since individuals will need more time washing.
