These inverters ideally come in two basic output designs – pure Sine Wave and modified sine wave. The modified sine wave inverters are cost effective while converting the DC to AC form. However one cannot run sensitive equipments using them. A solar power inverters based on latest Pure Sine wave technology is a good option as it takes care of the fluctuating DC power and can run sensitive equipments.
Always to be born in mind is safety the electronics in the Grid Tie inverter will only let current to feed when the house power is on. If the power fails, electricity could be fed backward to the power company endangering the work men. But if the power fails the grid tie automatically disconnects.
Choosing the Right Solar Power Inverter

What is a grid-tied inverter?
I think the grid tie is the most cost effective way to save cash and supply electricity in the household, it may not be a way to replace the power company, but it will save money.
This production from the generator is frequently called “clean power” which indicates steady and reliable current and firm sine wave release. This clean power will not create fluctuation in electric power which occurs through traditional generators. Abrupt fluctuations in power are very hazardous to several sensitive and high-technology electronics like the computers. There are two ways to create a grid-tied PV system. The first is to have a grid-tied SMA inverters and no batteries. If you produce more energy than you’re using, the excess energy can be sold back to the utility company using a method called net metering. Using a grid-tie system without batteries makes the system easier to maintain. These inverters are made to shutdown when they don’t sense the grid. This is to insure the people sent to fix fallen power lines are safe from any electric surges produced by the inverter.
There is an array of inverter solutions for grid-connected solar power systems and there are innumerable possibilities for designing an inverter system. It’s up to you whether you are planning to install a Small Solar Power System for your home or a big combined solution for your industry site. However, make sure that you choose the right inverter – one that offers highest performance along with maximum flexibility and ease of use.
Square wave inverters – are generators that are not seen as frequent as they could be. They are superior in giving power to universal motors, like those that can be seen in some power tools. These generators are hard to find but the cheapest among portable models.
What the inverter actually does in reality is convert the DC electricity from sources such as batteries, solar panels, or fuel cells to AC electricity. The electricity can be at any voltage; in particular it can operate AC equipment designed for mains operation, or rectified to produce DC at any desired voltage.
Off-Grid inverters (also known as stand-alone inverters) are not tied to the power grid at all. Houses with off-grid systems are completely self sufficient. Instead of tying into the power grid, the solar energy is stored in batteries. These batteries are usually charged by solar energy. However, they can also be powered by wind turbines, hydro turbines or generators.
A backup battery inverter is a type of grid-tied inverter. It can perform the usual feat of taking the energy from batteries and converting it to useable AC power, but it can also send the excess energy stored by the batteries back into the utility grid. If your home’s renewable Energy Power system is using a backup battery inverter you can actually sell your excess power back to the local power utility.
