do you have to use a Gfci Outlet underneath a sink or a standard outlet receptacle?
Per Article 210.8….all 125 volt, single phase, 15 and 20 ampere receptacles installed install in the locations specified in #1 thru #8 Shall have ground-Fault Circuit-interrupter protection for personnel… # 6 Kitchens – where the receptacles are installed to serve the countertop surface,(Key being countertop SURFACE) the 6 foot rule is covered under article 210.8 A#7 Laundry, Utility and wet bar sinks -where the receptacles are installed within 1.8m (6FT) of the outside edge of the sink and in part 210.8 (b). Other then Dwelling units, which you aren’t asking about, so by code NO you dont have to but do check you local codes for more information and for safty sake I would install a gfci, unless your using if for a disposal or dish washer, then I would install a single receptacle, NOT a GCFI Receptacle Hope this helps!!
