my gfi has power but it dont work?
ok i was doing some electrical and when i flipped the breaker on it sparked and smoke came out i put in a new gfci on an it has power to the wire but the outlet does not work if you plug something in please help
The GFI is sensitive as to whether you have the line and load hooked up properly. The feed wires must be hooked up to the section that says Line. The hot wire has to be on the side that says black and the white wire has to be hooked up on the line white side. Otherwise the newer GFI’s wont work.
